It has been a year since the SSJ100 air crash occurred in Indonesia. SuperJet International and Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company want to extend their sincere condolences to families and friends of the passengers and crew members who lost their lives in the incident.

The accident was a tragic landmark in the company’s history. We lost our colleagues and close friends, all of whom will be sorely missed. At this very difficult time, our thoughts are with them.

45 passengers and crew members lost their lives as a result of a SSJ100 (MSN 97004) fatal collision with Salak Mountain, in the area of Jakarta Halim Perdanakusuma airport, on May 9th 2012.

According to the final investigation report of the National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) the cause of the SSJ100 accident in Indonesia was a human factor. The captain inhibited the terrain-warning system assuming that the warning was a problem on the database. No technical faults were identified.

Today, the Indonesian airline, Sky Aviation, operates flights by Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft. We hope that despite the tragedy, this aircraft will be flying all over the world for many years to come – honouring our colleagues and friends, who believed in the Programme and will be present in our minds and hearts forever.

SuperJet International is present together with Powerjet at the RAA (North America Regional Airline Association) annual convention in Montreal.

The Mexican airline is the first western customer of the SSJ100 program. SuperJet International will deliver the first aircraft in spring 2013.

On March 28 2013 Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC) and Russian Airlines Aeroflot signed the Act of Delivery and Acceptance for the SSJ100 Full Flight Simulator (FFS).
The device was installed by the Aeroflot Aviation School at Sheremetjevo airport and it will allow the airline to train pilots itself.

This latest generation FFS, “Reality 7”, allows a fully realistic training for the SSJ100 pilots, replicating all stages of flight in normal conditions and allowing also the simulation of abnormal and emergency conditions and procedures.
It features a motion system, enabling pilots to achieve the SSJ100 Type Rating training without using the real aircraft. The system has been equipped with a state-of-the-art visual system with LCOS projectors and an instructor working station providing enhanced ergonomics.

This FFS, just delivered to Aeroflot, represents the third simulator jointly developed by L3 (formerly Thales Training & Simulation) and SCAC. The first FFS was installed at SuperJet International Zhukovsky Training Centre (Moscow Region, Russia) – approved by the Russian Aviation Authorities Rosaviatsia – and the second one in SuperJet International Training Centre in Venice (Italy), certified by the European Aviation Safety Agency EASA.

Following the approval of the Venice FFS by EASA, both the FFS delivered to Aeroflot and the one already operational in Zhukovsky will soon get the EASA Certification.

It is expected that Aeroflot will start training through the use of its own SSJ100 Full Flight Simulator in April this year.
Aeroflot pilots have been trained so far by SuperJet International in the Zhukovsky Training Centre. 64 Type Ratings and more than 100 slots of dry lease were offered.

Ten Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft are currently in operations with Aeroflot airline.

 
These service bulletins will be also introduced on the second Yakutia SSJ100, tail number 89012, at a later stage.
 
The same necessary modifications are being incorporated on all the aircraft currently in production.

On March 24, 2013 the first SSJ100 of Lao Central – the airline based in the Lao People’s Democratic Republic – successfully performed its first commercial flight from the capital of Vientiane to Luangphabang, the second largest city of Laos.

Lao Central will operate the SSJ100 both in domestic and international routes from Laos to Bangkok, Hanoi, Ho Chi Ming, Singapore and other destinations in Southeast Asia.

Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company and Lao Central signed a contract for delivery of three SSJ100 with an option for six aircraft in a 93 seats two-class configuration.

On March 23, 2013 the SSJ100 with tail number PK-ECL operated by Sky Aviation successfully performed its first domestic commercial flight in Indonesia from Makassar (formerly  Ujung Pandang) to Sorong.

The aircraft (MSN 95022) is the first of 12 SSJ100 ordered by the Indonesian carrier. Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC) delivered its first production SSJ100 last February 27, 2013.

The configuration of the first three aircraft features 12 business seats and 75 economy seats, while the rest according to the customer’s preferences will be delivered in an 8 business seats and 90 economy seats configuration.

The next SSJ100 for Sky Aviation is expected in the second quarter of 2013.

SuperJet International and F.T.O. Padova developed a new ab-initio professional course called “Platinum” for pilots’ training on the Airbus A320.
Students will attend the basic CPL + IR ME and Frozen ATPL licenses at the professional flight school of Padua, which has a fleet of modern aircraft with digital aviionics Garmin G1000 and G500.

MCC and TypeRating will be held at SuperJet International Training Center in Tessera, Venice, with the auxiliary of the A320 Full Flight Simulator. Course will be managed by SJI professional flight instructors.

The synergy between Venice and Padua, centers of excellence in aviation training, allowed to create this new customized and innovative course. Getting the full Type Rating pilots will be ready for airlines market with a successful experience and qualification!

SuperJet International (SJI) – a joint venture between Alenia Aermacchi and Sukhoi Holding – announced today the execution of a “SuperCare” Agreement with the second Russian operator of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft Yakutia Airlines for after-sales support of its SSJ100 fleet of 2 aircraft.

SuperJet International will provide Yakutia Airlines with customized spares availability and maintenance-repair solutions of on-board equipments for a minimum term of 3 years.

The “SuperCare” agreement is a comprehensive “per-flight-hour” program developed by SJI with the aim

of maximizing aircraft availability to operators and optimizing their maintenance and associated administrative costs.

With reference to recent incorrect news, Interjet informs that the future entry into service of the new Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) aircraft is not intended to replace the current fleet of 37 Airbus A320.

The SSJ100, in fact,  will create a secondary network of flights, to complement current A320 operations on average density routes.

The growth plan of the Airbus fleet continues as scheduled and the aircraft will be reassigned to higher density routes accordingly.

We will shortly unveil the plans for the new Sukhoi Superjet 100.

The Yakutia Airlines Sukhoi Superjet 100 (RA-89011) made its first commercial flight to Asia, from Yakutsk (Russia Far East) to Kharbin (China). On this route the airline operates one weekly flight.
Yakutia Airlines operates the SSJ100 aircraft on routes from Yakutsk to Khabarovsk and to Novosibirsk. During spring and summer the airline passengers will enjoy their SSJ100 flight experience on the routes within the Russian Far East: Yakutsk – Novosibirsk ; Neryungri-Khabarovsk ; Magadan-Khabarovsk ; Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

The first  Sky Aviation  Sukhoi Superjet 100 arrived in Indonesia. The aircraft,  Manufacture Serial Number 95022, is the first of twelve SSJ100 aircraft ordered by the Indonesian carrier.

Built by Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC) in its Komsomolsk-on-Amur assembly line, the aircraft completed its interiors’ installation and painting in Ulianovsk site and finally flew to Jakarta Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport.

“The South-East Asia is one of the most attractive markets for us. We are proud to have a customer like Sky Aviation, which is one of the largest operators in Indonesia in terms of route-network extension to be operated with the SSJ100. Our state-of-the-art aircraft will offer new opportunities for Sky Aviation, also granting to its passengers the maximum comfort and an enjoyable way of travel” says Andrey Kalinovsky , recently appointed President of Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company.

Sky Aviation, based in Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport (Jakarta, Indonesia), was established in 2010 and operates scheduled and charter flights in Indonesia.

“Our country is an archipelago comprising several islands. It is vitally important to provide a transport link among  them. The short-haul Sukhoi Superjet 100 is an excellent solution, when other aircraft operated by these routes would be unprofitable – said KrismanTarigan, Chief Executive Officer of Sky Aviation – Some airports in Indonesia have short runways with a consequent limitation for some aircraft types. . The SSJ100 perfectly fits these peculiarities as it can land in to runways shorter  than 1800 meters. We are sure that the SSJ100 will boost Sky Aviation revenues and passenger traffic” concluded Mr Tarigan.

In 2011 during the Moscow International Aviation and Space salon – MAKS – “Sukhoi Civil Aircraft” (SCAC) and the Indonesian carrier Sky Aviation signed a 380 mln. US dollars contract for twelve SSJ100 with a delivery in 2012 – 2015. The configuration of the first three aircraft features 12 business and 75 economy seats while the rest according to the customer needs will be delivered in 8 business and 90 economy seats configuration.

SuperJet International – joint venture between Alenia Aermacchi (a Finmeccanica Company) and Sukhoi Holding, also in charge of Customer Services and Training – has already completed successfully the SSJ100 Type Rating training of Sky Aviation pilots, as well as cabin attendants and mechanics, along with on-site support in Jakarta.

Last year SuperJet International and Sky Aviation signed a “SuperCare” Agreement with the launch for after-sales support of its SSJ100 fleet of up to 12 aircraft. SuperJet International will provide the Indonesian carrier Sky Aviation with customized spares availability and maintenance-repair solutions of on-board equipment for a term of 10 years. The agreement is worth up to USD 57 million.

Late 2012 Indonesian General Directorate of Civil Aviation validated the Type Certificate for the Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft (RRJ-95B). This validation confirmed compliance of the SSJ100 to the certification requirements of the Indonesian Aviation Authority, allowing its export to Indonesia and operations by Indonesian airlines without restrictions.

The new Full Flight Simulator (FFS) for training on the SSJ100 aircraft, installed at the SuperJet International (SJI) Training Center in Venice (Italy), has been successfully certified by EASA and it is now Ready For Training with the registration number IT-069.

This SSJ100 FFS is the first simulator for a Russian civil aircraft that achieved the certification by the European Aviation Safety Agency EASA.

This certification is closing the STD (Synthetic Training Device) Evaluation Team (SET) process for the development of the device, which has seen the joint participation of EASA, the training provider SuperJet International, the aircraft manufacturer Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company and the simulator manufacturer L3.

This simulator, which arrived in Venice for installation last December, was submitted to an extensive phase of on-site testing and finally to the approval of the EASA SET, which has confirmed the compliance of the device with the level D certification’s requirements, in accordance with EASA-FSTD A.

The FFS will provide SSJ100 Customers with Type Rating courses as well as recurrent training. Interjet pilots will be the first to start training in Venice on the new simulator at the end of February. 6 pilots and 4 technicians have already started the ground course managed by SuperJet International’s instructors.

The first Interjet B1/B2 maintenance type training course is also underway involving 15 engineers, as 7 cabin attendant’s training will start soon with the auxiliary of the CEET installed in Venice.

The SSJ100 simulator “Reality 7”, produced by L3 Communications, replicates the aircraft cockpit with state-of-the-art visual and motion system, enabling pilots to achieve the SSJ100 Type Rating training without using the real aircraft.

“We are very proud of this milestone. The new FFS will immediately permit the Mexican carrier’s pilots to start their training in Venice – states Nazario Cauceglia, Chief Executive Officer of SuperJet International – while completion activities are in progress to deliver the first aircraft to Interjet in spring”.

SJI has established a Training Center consisting of two facilities based in Venice and Moscow. Both of them are equipped with the same training devices and tools, allowing high quality training services in compliance with safety regulations.

Up to end of January 2013 140 pilots, 58 cabin attendants and more than 530 technicians completed successfully the courses currently delivered both in Venice and Moscow SJI Training Centers.

According to this agreement FL Technics becomes a partner of the SuperJet International Airframe Authorized Service Centers Network. It will provide SSJ100 operators with line and base airframe maintenance services. In the nearest future FL Technics will be committed to providing line maintenance support to SSJ100 operators located in the South-East Asia.
SSJ100 operators can rely on the SuperJet International MRO network built on partnerships with recognized MRO providers worldwide.

On February 15, 2013  the first Sukhoi Superjet 100 was delivered to Lao Central airline in Lao People’s Democratic Republic’s capital city Ventiane.

The aircraft, Manufacturer Serial Number 95026 was transferred today from Ulianovsk (Russia) to Wattay International Airport.

“The delivery  to Lao Central represents the first Sukhoi Superjet 100 to be operated in Southeast Asia. Lao Central airline will take advantage of the significant performance of the SSJ100 while their passengers will enjoy the superior comfort of the aircraft cabin”, said SCAC President Andrey Kalinovsky.

Lao Central is planning to operate the Sukhoi Superjet 100 both in domestic and international routes from Laos to Bangkok, Hanoi, Ho Chi Ming, Singapore and other destinations in Southeast Asia.

Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Co. (SCAC) reports that the Airworthiness Certificates of the fourth Sukhoi Superjet 100s (SSJ100s) operated by Aeroflot has been reinstated by Russia’s aviation authorities (Rosaviacia).

All the four Aeroflot SSJ100 that were grounded by the Russian aviation authorities earlier this month are now cleared to return to service.

Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Co. (SCAC) reports that the Airworthiness Certificates for three Sukhoi Superjet 100s (SSJ100s) operated by Aeroflot have been reinstated by Russia’s aviation authorities (Rosaviacia) with the fourth certificate to be reinstated by the end of this week.
Four Aeroflot SSJ100 were grounded by the Russian aviation authorities earlier this month.
The aircraft  technical issues which led to the decision to suspend the CoA have been resolved by SCAC  with the full support and cooperation of Aeroflot.

The first Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) with Interjet colours was rolled out today from the SuperJet International’s paint hangar in Venice (Italy).

The aircraft, Manufacture Serial Number 95023, is the first aircraft to be delivered to the Mexican carrier Interjet, which is the launch customer in the western market. In total Interjet ordered 20 SSJ100 aircraft in a 93 seats configuration.

The livery features white and blue stripes according to the customer’s paint scheme. Activities on the aircraft are undergoing to deliver the first Interjet SSJ100 by spring 2013.

The second SSJ100 for Interjet, MSN 95024, has also arrived in Venice to commence the completion activities.

In the meantime the new Full Flight Simulator (FFS) is being certified at the SJI Training Center in Venice to enable the Mexican carrier’s pilots to start training at the beginning of March.

The SSJ100 is a state-of-the-art 100-seat regional jet developed and built by Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC), in partnership with Alenia Aermacchi. The aircraft is a competitive product in terms of low fuel consumption, low operating costs and maximum comfort.

The Sukhoi Superjet 100 is currently the most important industrial program between the Russian Federation and Europe in the field of the civil aviation.

Yakutia Airlines has become the second Russian operator of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft and the first in the Far East of Russia.
 
“Yakutia” is a leading airline in the market of air transportation in Yakutia (Russia) and demonstrates a steady growth of its key performance indicators. In 2011 the airline carried more than 1 million passengers. The geography of flights includes destinations inside the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Russia and international flights as well. In the Far East Federal District of Russia “Yakutia” operates flights to 8 from 9 existing sub-federal units allowing passengers to enjoy direct flights inside the region.

On January 28, 2013 “Sukhoi Civil Aircraft” Company (SCAC) Board of Directors appointed the new President.
Mr Andrey Kalinovsky was named President of “Sukhoi Civil Aircraft” replacing Mr Vladimir Prisyazhnyuk.
 

Mr. Kalinovsky will take up his duties on February 1, 2013.
 

During the same Board of Directors’ meeting Mr Mikhail Pogosyan – President and Chairman of the Executive Board of United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) – was appointed SCAC Chairman of the Board replacing Mr. Igor Ozar. The new Chairman commences his duties immediately upon his election.
These new appointments to senior positions are associated with challenging goals set by the Company to boost the Sukhoi Superjet program and ensure the SSJ100 aircraft’s success.
 

Mr Kalinovsky was formally the General Director of Novosibirsk Aircraft Production Association (named after Chkalov NAPO, Subsidiary of Sukhoi) since July 2007. During this period he implemented the modernization and upgrade of the production facilities together with personnel advanced training at NAPO in order to comply with the international production standards.

 
He had assumed the role of First Vice President of Production with SCAC and Director of SCAC Komsomolsk-on-Amur Branch since May 2011.
 

Under Mr Kalinovsky’s direct management, the manufacturing of the SSJ100 components had been arranged in Novosibirsk (Russia) as well as the aircraft assembly line at SCAC Komsomolsk-on-Amur Branch.

The painting of the first Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) for Lao Central airline was completed in Ulianovsk facility (Russia).

The aircraft, manufacture serial number 95026, is the first aircraft to be delivered to Lao Central, which is the second customer for the SSJ100 in the Southeast Asia together with Sky Aviation. In December 2012 SCAC and the Indonesian carrier signed the Act of Delivery & Acceptance for the first SSJ100.

Lao Central, based in the Laos People’s Democratic Republic, made an order for three SSJ100 aircraft, plus six options, in a 93 seats two-class configuration.

The Lao Central SSJ100 will be operated by the airline in both domestic and international destinations: from Laos to Bangkok, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, Singapore, etc.

The SSJ100 has already achieved its Type Certificate by the Laos Civil Aviation Authority, confirming compliance of the aircraft to the certification requirements of Laos and allowing the export to Laos and operation by Laos airlines without restrictions.

The delivery of the first aircraft to Lao Central is expected early this year.

On December 29, 2012 Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC) and Indonesian air carrier Sky Aviation signed in Ulianovsk (Russia) Act of Delivery & Acceptance for the first Sukhoi Superjet 100 on completion of technical acceptance procedure.

Flight of the aircraft with MSN 95022 from Ulianovsk Delivery Centre to its base airport in Indonesia is planned for January 2013. The same month the airline is going to put SSJ100 into commercial operation.

The document, signed by the parties, states that the aircraft is technically sound and fully meets the performance criteria. The Act of Delivery & Acceptance also confirms that the SSJ100 is transferred to the carrier with a full set of required operational and maintenance documentation and flight kit. The aircraft is ready to start commercial operation on Sky Aviation route network.

Earlier Indonesian aviation authorities validated the Type Certificate for the Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft. This validation confirms compliance of the SSJ100 to the certification requirements of the Indonesian Aviation Authority, allowing its export to Indonesia and operation by Indonesian airlines without restrictions.

the Department of Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport of Laos People’s Democratic Republic validated the Type Certificate for the Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft (RRJ-95B).
 

This validation confirms compliance of the SSJ100 to the certification requirements of the Laos Aviation Authority, allowing its export to Indonesia and operation by Laos airlines without restrictions.

“We are glad that Sukhoi Superjet 100 has been recognized by the countries of the Southeast Asia. This will allow SCAC to deliver the aircraft to Laos”, said Igor Vinogradov, SCAC First Vice-President for Development and Certification.
 

In March 2011 Laos air carrier Lao Central (earlier Phongsavanh) and JSC “Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company” signed a contract for delivery of three Sukhoi Superjet 100. The first delivery is expected in early 2013.
 

In January 2011 the SSJ100 obtained the Type Certificate by the Russian Certification Authority IAC AR. In February 2012 the aircraft achieved the EASA Type Certificate, followed by the validation of Mexican Aviation Authorities in April 2012. In November 2012 Sukhoi Superjet 100 Certificate Type was validated by the Indonesian authorities.

On December 18 2012 the first Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft for “Aircompany Yakutia” was delivered to the customer.

Sukhoi Superjet 100 (MSN 95019) arrived to the airline base airport in Yakutsk (Russia) from Ulianovsk where its interior had been installed and the airplane painted to “Yakutia” livery.

“Yakutia” has become the second Russian airline to which we delivered Sukhoi Superjet 100 however at the same time the first customer in the Russian Far East. It is a pleasure for us to see an increasing number of Russian air carriers which air fleet featuring the state-of-the-art Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft”, said the President of Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company Mr Vladimir Prisyazhnyuk.

“The aircraft will be put into operation in the near future. The airline passengers will be able to evaluate advantages of the new airliner during the flights from Yakutsk to Khabarovsk, Blagoveshchensk, Vladivostok and other cities of the Far East and Siberia”, said the Director General of “Aircompany Yakutia” Mr Ivan Prostit.

“Yakutia” is also planning to operate international destinations by Sukhoi Superjet 100 from Yakutsk to Harbin (China), Niahata (Japan) and Seoul (South Korea).

Sukhoi Superjet 100 can be operated in severe climatic conditions of the North of Russia as well as to airports in arctic region – where the airline is planning to operate flights to.

Early November 2012 Sukhoi Superjet 100 obtained the Supplement to the Type Certificate expanding operational conditions in the high north latitude area. The flight tests proved the proper functioning of the aircraft avionics, most notably the inertial reference system and the satellite navigation systems GPS and GLONNAS in flights in high north latitude area of up to 78 degrees.

In October 2012 SuperJet International, the company in charge of Customer Services and Training, completed training of the first four “Yakutia” flight crews in Zhukovsky Training Center. The next group of pilots and technical staff is planned for training in early 2013.

JSC “Aircompany Yakutia” and JCS “Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company” signed a contract for delivery of two Sukhoi Superjet 100 for 93 passenger seats each with configuration: 8 seats – business-class, 85 seats – economy class.

The second delivery of the aircraft is expected in the first quarter of the next year.

“Yakutia” is a leading airline in the market of air transportation in Yakutia (Russia) and demonstrates a steady growth of its key performance indicators. In 2011 the airline carried more than 1 million passengers.

The geography of flights includes destinations inside the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Russia and international flights as well. In the Far East Federal District of Russia “Yakutia” operates flights to 8 from 9 existing sub-federal units allowing passengers to enjoy direct flights inside the region.

a. The crew were not aware of the mountainous area surrounding the flight path due to various factors resulting in disregarding the TAWS warning.

b. The Jakarta Radar service had not established the minimum vectoring altitudes and the system was not equipped with functioning MSAW for the particular area surrounding Mount Salak.

c. Distraction to the flight crew from prolonged conversation not related to the progress of the flight resulted in the pilot flying did not continue to change the aircraft heading while in orbit. Consequently, the aircraft unintentionally exited the orbit”.

Indonesian airline Sky Aviation is carrying out pre-delivery inspection of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 in Ulianovsk (Russia).

Sky Aviation being the first SSJ100 customer in Southeast Asia market made an order of twelve Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft to be delivered in 2012-2015.

Late November 2012 interiors installation and painting of the first Sukhoi Superjet 100 (MSN 95022) to Indonesian airline Sky Aviation livery was completed.

SuperJet International, the company in charge of Customer Services and Training, has already started training courses for Sky Aviation flight crews. 8 pilots completed successfully the SSJ100 Type Rating training, 18 cabin attendants will be trained by the end of December as 12 mechanics will complete the courses in January 2013.

The first delivery of the aircraft is expected by the end of this year.

Earlier Indonesian General Directorate of Civil Aviation has validated the Type Certificate for the Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft (RRJ-95B). This validation confirms compliance of the SSJ100 to the certification requirements of the Indonesian Aviation Authority, allowing its export to Indonesia and operation by Indonesian airlines without restrictions.

A new Full Flight Simulator (FFS) for training on the SSJ100 aircraft arrived for installation at the SuperJet International (SJI) Training Center in Venice (Italy), close to the International Marco Polo airport.
 

The SSJ100 simulator, produced by L3 Communications, formerly Thales, fully replicates the aircraft cockpit with state-of-the-art visual and motion system, enabling pilots to achieve the SSJ100 Type Rating training without using the real aircraft.
 

The installation will last around 30 days and it will be followed by an extensive phase of on-site testing. Consequently the simulator will be submitted to the final approval of the EASA STD (Synthetic Training Device) Evaluation team, to be ready for training at the beginning of 2013.
 

The FFS will be utilized to deliver Type Rating courses to the SSJ100 Customers as well as recurrent training. Courses will be managed by a selected and highly experienced team of SuperJet International’s professionals with airline’s operations background. Interjet’s pilots will be the first to start training in Venice on the new FFS.
 
In Venice SJI also provides training for cabin attendants and maintenance technicians. Up to October 2012 144 pilots, 65 cabin attendants and more than 380 technicians completed successfully the courses currently delivered both in Venice and Moscow SJI Training Centers.
 

“This is an important achievement for SuperJet International, that in its mission also encompasses training and after-sales support. The new device will permit the Mexican carrier’s pilots to start training in Venice states Nazario Cauceglia, Chief Executive Officer of SuperJet Internaitonal – The new simulator will grant to enlarge the SJI training offer on the SSJ100 aircraft, in addition to the existing FFS already operational in Zhukovsky, Moscow Region”.
 

SJI has established a Training Center made up of two facilities based in Venice and Moscow. Both of them are equipped with the same training devices and tools which allow to provide the high quality training services in compliance with safety regulations.
 

The new FFS “Reality 7” is equipped with LCOS Projectors for the Visual System, Electro-Hydraulic Motion System and new IOS Station with improved ergonomics. The device will be also approved at “level D” which is the maximum level of certification for the FFS according to JAR FSTD A regulation.
 
In addition, SJI Flight Training Organization (FTO) in Venice is able to supply a Type-rating courses on A320 family “level D” FFS, also fully integrated with Multi Crew Cooperation (MCC) training, through the utilization of a Frasca 242J FNPTD (Flight Navigation Procedure Training Device), thus offering a flexible array of services including the bridging for non glass cockpit pilots and multi-aircraft training.

On November 22, 2012 the Indonesian General Directorate of Civil Aviation validated the Type Certificate for the Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft (RRJ-95B).
This validation confirms compliance of the SSJ100 to the certification requirements of the Indonesian Aviation Authority, allowing its export to Indonesia and operation by Indonesian airlines without restrictions.

“The validation process has been completed through a long and careful work resulting in the obtainment of the SSJ100 Type Certificate by the Indonesian Authority. This will allow to deliver the aircraft to the first customer in the Southeast Asian market,  the Indonesian airline Sky Aviation”, said Igor Vinogradov, SCAC First Vice-President for Development and Certification.

In June 2011 during Farnborough International Airshow JSC “Sukhoi Civil Aircraft” (SCAC) and Indonesian carrier Sky Aviation signed a contract for 12 SSJ100 to be delivered in 2012-2015. The first delivery of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft is expected by the end of this year.

Superjet 100 Type Certificate validation process was started in February 2012 with an application for certification.

In July 2012 on the occasion of the visit of the Indonesian Ministry of Transport to Russia the document defining the scope and procedure of works to validate the Type Certificate for SSJ100 in Indonesia was signed.
In January 2011 the SSJ100 obtained the Type Certificate by the Russian Certification Authority IAC AR. In February 2012 the aircraft achieved the EASA Type Certificate, followed by the validation of Mexican Aviation Authority in April 2012.

On the occasion of ALTA Airlines Leaders Forum, held in Panama City, SuperJet International – joint venture between Alenia Aermacchi and Sukhoi Holding – announced that the Mexican airline Interjet, first SSJ100 western customer, added 10 options to its current firm order for 20 SSJ100 aircraft.

Based on the aircraft list price, the total Interjet order has a potential value of over 1 billion dollars, including options.

The first “green“ Interjet SSJ100 landed at Venice Marco Polo airport (Italy) on October 6^th 2012 for completion and customization at SuperJet International’s facility. The Company is currently developing the EASA STC, Supplemental Type Certification, for the interiors’ installation, which will be branded by Pininfarina Italian Style.

SJI plans to deliver the first Interjet SSJ100 in March 2013 with a consequent delivery-rate of one aircraft per month.

Originally Interjet signed a contract for the purchase of 15 SSJ100 aircraft with a configuration of 93 seats plus 5 options. During the last Farnborough Airshow Mr. Miguel Aleman Velasco, Chairman of Interjet announced the decision of the airline to convert its five options into firm orders, thus bringing to 20 the number of firm aircraft. Now the Customer extends the agreement covering the 10 additional options.

“This new agreement confirms the solid relationship we have established with Interjet since the signature of our deal and it proves the strong belief of the Customer in the SSJ100 product and services – states Nazario Cauceglia, Chief Executive Officer of SuperJet International – We are currently working in Venice to grant a first-class service and we are also confident that these 10 options will be soon converted into firm orders”.

The SSJ100 aircraft, developed and built by Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC), a Sukhoi and Alenia Aermacchi Company, is a technologically advanced regional aircraft which provides the maximum efficiency in the high altitude/high temperature typical of Mexico and fits with Interjet’s high operational and customer service standards.

In April 2012 the SSJ100 received the Mexican Certification confirming its compliance with the requirements of the Mexican Aviation Authority.

SuperJet International will be also in charge of training. By the end of November 2012 the first Full Flight Simulator (FFS) will arrive in Venice and it will be installed at the SJI Training Center to enable the Mexican carrier’s pilots to start training in January 2013.

The Sukhoi Superjet 100 is currently the most important industrial program between the Russian Federation and the rest of the world in the field of the civil aviation.

On October 26 2012 the first aircraft Sukhoi Superjet 100 (MSN 95022) for the first Indonesian customer – Sky Aviation airline – arrived from Komsomolsk-on-Amur to Ulyanovsk for painting and interior installation.

The aircraft, developed and built by Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC) in partnership with Alenia Aermacchi, will be delivered to the customer by the end of this year. Sky Aviation signed a contract for the purchase of 12 Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100).

SuperJet International, in charge of Customer Services and Training, has already started training courses for Sky Aviation flight crews. By the end of November 8 pilots, 9 cabin attendants and 12 mechanics will complete the courses to grant the operations since the entry into service.

On October 19^th 2012 the Roll-in Ceremony of the first Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) aircraft, which arrived in Venice for completion, was held in the hangar of SuperJet International (SJI).

The SSJ100, developed and built by Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC), a Sukhoi and Alenia Aermacchi Company, landed at Venice Marco Polo airport on October 6^th 2012 for completion, customization and delivery to the first western customer, the Mexican airline Interjet, at the SuperJet International’s facility.

The SSJ100 (MSN 95023), a state-of-the-art 100-seat regional jet, was presented for the first time to the local and national authorities in its green configuration.

In the next months SuperJet International will be responsible for the new interiors “Supplemental Type Certificate” (EASA STC) achievement, as well as the customization and painting activities on Interjet aircraft, which will be accomplished at the SJI completion center in Tessera, Venice. As requested by the customer, SSJ100 interiors will be marked by Pininfarina Italian style.

The first Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) aircraft for the first western customer Interjet landed in Venice (Italy) at Marco Polo airport for the completion activities at the SuperJet International (SJI) facility.
On October 5th the “green” aircraft (MSN 95023) took off from Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (SCAC) assembly plant in Komsomolsk on-Amur (Russia), it flew through the airports of Novosibirsk and Zhukovsky (Moscow Region) and landed in Venice on October 6th at 12.35 (local time).

 
SuperJet International, joint venture between Alenia Aermacchi (51%) and Sukhoi Holding (49%), is responsible for the SSJ100 completion and delivery to the Western customers. The interiors’ installation, customization and painting activities on Interjet aircraft will be accomplished at the SJI completion centre, based in Tessera (Venice) Italy.

SJI is also developing the “Supplemental Type Certificate” (EASA-STC) which allows to complete the aircraft interior installation. Interjet represents the first SSJ100 customer in the western market. The Mexican airline signed a firm order with SuperJet International for the purchase of 20 SSJ100. All SSJ100 aircraft will be in a 93-seat configuration.

The MSN 95007 turns back to service after the solution of airline’s financial issues.

The document, signed by the parties, states that the aircraft is technically sound and fully meets the performance criteria. The Act of Delivery & Acceptance also confirms that the SSJ100 is transferred to the carrier with a full set of required operational and maintenance documentation and flight kit. The aircraft is ready to start commercial operation on Aeroflot domestic and international route network.

The aircraft is planned to fly from Ulyanovsk to Moscow on September, 19, 2012.

On completion of Technical acceptance procedure, SCAC and Aeroflot signed the Act of Delivery & Acceptance for this aircraft at Ulyanovsk on July 28, 2012. The aircraft received the name after the outstanding Soviet pilot Vasily Borisov and the tail number RA-89009.

The document, signed by the parties, states that the aircraft is technically sound and fully meets the performance criteria. The Act of Delivery & Acceptance also confirms that the SSJ100 is transferred to the carrier with a full set of required operational and maintenance documentation and flight kit. The aircraft is ready to start commercial operation on Aeroflot domestic and international route network.

The aircraft is planned to fly from Ulyanovsk to Moscow on August 2, 2012.

SuperJet International successfully concluded and obtained by the Italian Civil Aviation Authority ENAC the new Certificate IT. 147.0010 (Maintenance Training and Examination Organisation Approval Certificate) including RRJ95 (SSJ100) type training courses.

This important Certification allows SuperJet International, as a MTO (Maintenance Training Organisation), to provide the SSJ100 maintenance technicians with training courses according to the EASA Part 147 regulation and to conduct examinations as well as issue the related certificates.

The Certificate represents an additional entry card for worlwide SJI Customers. Theoretical and practical Type Training courses for maintenance technicians will be provided worlwide according to international standards. Starting from February 2013 Interjet technicians will attend EASA approved type training courses at Interjet’s facility in Toluca, Mexico.

The first maintenance type training course on the SSJ100 started in February 2011 at the Aerolflot Training Center at Sheremetjevo airport under the Russian regulations. The training activity for Armavia’s techinicians was completely supplied at Armavia Maintenance station in Yerevan, Armenia.

Up to date (June 30, 2012) 312 mechanics were trained, including SJI trained maintenance techinicians who will be in charge of the completion and interiors’ installation on the SSJ100 aircraft for Interjet, SJI first western customer.

This year we expect to train approximately 350 mechanics with different skills for the release of new aircraft in service (B1 for mechanics and B2 for avionics) including those of PT Sky Aviation and Laos Central.

Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC) jointly with leading Russian companies, members of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), participated in the 48th International Airshow Farnborough 2012 held in London from 9 to 15 of July 2012.

One of the Aeroflot’s Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) was displayed for the first time at an international airshow. The aircraft MSN 95016 was viewed and visited in the static display and it was much appreciated by the participants and guests of the airshow. SCAC’s exhibit located on the UAC stand in Hall A, also attracted the attention of a great number of visitors.

On July 10, 2012 during the joint press conference of SCAC, SuperJet International and PowerJet, the Chairman of the Mexican Interjet Airlines, Mr. Miguel Aleman Velasco, announced that the airline converted its five SSJ100 options into firm orders. Thus Interjet ordered 20 aircraft in total.

SCAC’s intention to sign contracts on up to 40 SSJ100 aircraft with airlines from South-West Asia by the year end was announced at the airshow. The manufacturer expects to deliver 20 production aircraft in total during 2012. Yakutiya Airlines, Lao Central Airlines, Interjet and Sky Aviation will receive their first SSJ100 aircraft this year.

“The participation to the Farnborough Airshow confirmed that there is a fond interest in the SSJ100 program from our potential customers worldwide. The image of our aircraft continues to be positive and we are going to increase the production rates, providing an efficient support to the airlines”, noted SCAC President Vladimir Prisyazhnyuk.

Five options converted into firm SuperJet International (SJI) – a joint venture between Alenia Aermacchi, a Finmeccanica Company, and Sukhoi Holding – announced today that its launch western customer Interjet has converted its five SukhoiSuperjet 100 (SSJ100) options into firm orders.

In January 2011 SuperJet International signed a contract with Interjet for the purchase of 15 SSJ100 plus 5 options. All SSJ100 aircraft will be in a 93 seat configuration, basic version. Based on the aircraft list price, the value of the 20 aircraft order is approximately 700 million USD.

Interjet’s first SSJ100 will arrive in Venice (Italy) at SuperJet International’s Headquarters in August 2012.The aircraft will be completed, customized and delivered by the end of the year at the SJI completion center in Venice. SJI is developing the EASA STC for the interiors’ installation, which will be marked by Pininfarina Italian Style.

SJI also signed today a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to appoint Interjet Toluca’s facility as a“SJI Authorized Service Center” for the provisioning of base and line maintenance on the SSJ100. Therefore the Interjet Toluca facility will benefit from the support of SJI to provide in-house and third party SSJ100 operators with airframe maintenance.

This agreement is a further sign of the solid relationship Interjet and SJI have established since 2011 when the companies entered into a 10 years per-flight-hour based “SuperCare” Agreement to ensure the most qualified SSJ100 after-sales support.

In April 2012, the SSJ100 aircraft obtained Mexican Certification confirming its compliance with the requirements of the Mexican Aviation Authority.

The Sukhoi Superjet 100 program represents the most important industrial partnership between the Russian Federation and the rest of the world in the civil aviation sector.

SuperJet International will be participating with its own chalet (row B 15-16) in the Farnborough International Airshow, taking place from 9 to 13 of July.

SuperJet International Training Organization achieved the Type Rating Certification on the SSJ100 (RRJ95B) issued by EASA.

Four SJI pilots – instructors and examiners -  are the first western pilots to obtain the Type Rating to fly the SSJ100 aircraft in the countries recognized by EASA airworthiness regulations.

The Certification represents an important milestone for the SSJ100 program which can now benefit from this additional training qualification confirmed by the European Airworthiness and Safety Agency. Now SJI Training organization is able to extend the SSJ100 training to pilots licensed in those countries recognized by  EASA rules.

During their professional careers Capt. Agostino Frediani, Capt. Carlo Occhiato, Capt. Alberto Zucconi Galli Fonseca and Capt. Luciano Fornari flew a total of over 50.000 flight hours and made 5.000 hours of simulator training.

The Type Rating has been issued by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and follows the SSJ100 (RRJ95) Type Certificate by EASA.

SuperJet International Aviation Training Center in Moscow has been  approved by the Russian Authority RosAviaciya, in accordance with the Russian Federal Aviation Order 23, in January 2012 and it is currently providing training on SSJ100 type to aviation and maintenance personnel.

SuperJet International’s Flight Training Organization counts on 15 pilots: 2 test pilots acting as TRI/TRE (Type Rating Instructor), 4 TRI/TRE (Type Rating Examiner), 5 TRI, 4 SFI (Synthetic Flight Instructor).

Up to date over 100 pilots of both Aeroflot and Armavia airlines completed the training courses at the SJI Training Centers.

These courses, provided in English and Russian, were managed by SJI’s international and professional team coming from different countries (Italy, Russia, Lithuania, USA and Germany), who proactively participated in the lessons. The Training programs were accomplished by using temporarily a flight Training Device (FTD) and since November 2011 a Full Flight Simulator level C available at the TC of Zhukovsky, Moscow.

Also this year SuperJet International provided a 20-year outlook for the regional market with a focus on the 61-120 seat category.

SJI forecast is based on an economic model linking a region’s air traffic with the economy of the region itself.

Regional traffic is moreover driven by many other factors (scope clause, right-sizing, natural growth, fuel efficiency).

SuperJet International forecasts a demand for about 5,900 jets in the 30-120 seat market over the next 20 years. Jets in the 91-120 seat segment will account for about 63% of total deliveries with 3,700 deliveries within next 20 years.

The contract was signed by Transaero Airlines General Director Olga Pleshakova and President of the United Aircraft Corporation Mikhail Pogosyan on behalf of SCAC.

The SSJ100 aircraft for Transaero will feature a comfortable two-class 90-seat layout (8 in business class and 82 in economy class). Deliveries are scheduled to start in 2015 and continue through 2017.

We chose Sukhoi Superjet 100 as the most modern Russian aircraft that is highly competitive with best models in its class. These aircraft in Transaero’s fleet will contribute in meeting an important challenge for the Russian civil aviation – to develop an affordable regional route network in our country”, stressed Transaero Airlines Director General Olga Pleshakova.

A year ago, on June 16, 2011 Aeroflot – Russian Airlines put its first Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft MSN 95008 in commercial operations. The SSJ100 aircraft named after the outstanding soviet pilot Mikhail Vodopyanov and received tail number RA-89001 successfully performed its first commercial flight on route Moscow – St Petersburg.

In 2011 Aeroflot received and put in operation three additional SSJ100 aircraft (MSN 95010 & RA-89002, MSN 95011 & RA-89003 and MSN 95012 & RA-89004) in August, November and December respectively. In 2012 four aircraft (MSN 95015 & RA-89007, MSN 95013 & RA-89005, MSN 95016 & RA-89008 and MSN 95014 & RA-89006) joined the airline’s fleet and started to perform revenue flights in January, March, April and May respectively. The acceptance of the ninth Aeroflot’s aircraft (MSN 95017 & RA-89009) will start in Komsomolsk-on-the Amur this week. In 2012 Aeroflot plans to receive five additional Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft.

By June 15, 2012 eight SSJ100s of Aeroflot accumulated 6,865 flight hours in 3,710 revenue flights and carried more than 220,000 passengers. Aeroflot’s SSJ100s performed scheduled flights from Moscow to 27 destinations in Russia (Anapa, Astrakhan, Volgograd, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Nizhnevartovsk, Nizhnekamsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Orenburg, Perm, Samara, St Petersburg, Ufa and Chelyabinsk), Ukraine (Donetsk and Odessa), Belarus (Minsk) and Europe (Budapest, Bucharest, Vilnius, Dresden, Copenhagen, Krakow, Oslo, Sofia and Stockholm).

The best results in terms of monthly utilization were reached by aircraft MSN 95011 and MSN 95016 in May 2012 with a figure of 249 and 240 flight hours respectively. The biggest numbers of flights per month were performed by aircraft MSN 95010 and MSN 95008 in September and August 2011 and stood at 151 and 157 flights. The largest daily utilization reached 16 flight hours.

Aeroflot’s SSJ100 operations showed that the aircraft is able to efficiently serve both regional routes with the high frequency of departure and short haul routes. The SSJ100 of Aeroflot was able to perform three return flights per day, achieving daily utilization over than 10 flight hours.

“We are positive in evaluating the first year of our SSJ100 operations taking in account the fact that Aeroflot applied same rigid requirements to the technical condition of the new Russian airliner as to the Airbus and Boeing aircraft currently in its fleet. While the aircraft went through the initial phase of operations, we paid particular attention to its overall performance. Taking into account the high quality standards of Aeroflot, we believe that the work aimed at further improving the technical support efficiency conducted by SCAC and its partners will definitely lead to an expansion of the operational performance of our growing SSJ100 fleet in the near future”, noted Chief of the Aeroflot SSJ100 pilots team Evgeny Voronin.

“Sukhoi Superjet 100 is the new aircraft type, and we are satisfied with the results of the first year of operations of our aircraft with Aeroflot. These results achieved through joint efforts of Aeroflot, SCAC, SuperJet International and PowerJet sometimes exceeded those of many other new aircraft types in the first year of their commercial operations. For us it is important that the SSJ100 showed high safety rates for the new aircraft type and received positive feedback from Aeroflot pilots. We are continuously working on the enhancement of the production’s quality and range of services to our operators”, stressed President of Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Vladimir Prisyazhnyuk.

Activities to establish and enhance the after-sales support system have been carried out during the first year of operations. Over the last six months the implementation of the monitoring system of operations allowed to minimize a number of issues related to the aircraft acceptance, to reduce of three times the notes to the operational documentation, to optimize the spare parts’ delivery time to 48 hours maximum and to heavily cut the troubleshooting time.

Training for the airline’s flightand technician staff for the SSJ100 aircraft is an important field to be focused on. The whole training is accomplished by SuperJet International, the joint venture between Alenia Aermacchi and Sukhoi Holding, by the Training Center in Zhukovsky by applying the international aviation and safety standards. Up to date and since the beginning of the training courses in February 2011 47 AFL crews (94 pilots including 42 pilots without previous “glass cockpit” experience), 24 flight attendant-instructors and 118 engineering technical specialists (94 in 2011 and 24 in 2012) were trained. Within the end of 2012 additional 16 AFL flight crews and around 40 AFL technicians will be trained.

A Full Flight Simulator (FFS) will be delivered to the Aeroflot training center in Sheremetyevo in October 2012.

Adelantó que será en noviembre cuando lleguen los primeros cuatro o cinco aviones, pese al accidente que se registró en Indonesia, donde murieron 45 personas durante un vuelo de demostración que realizaba el aparato.

“Todos los aviones se caen y por la experiencia que tenemos de exhibición siempre hay peripecias que son negativas, como en este caso donde había alturas muy elevadas y bajas que volar y al piloto el tiempo no le permitió mucha visión” expuso.

Miguel Alemán Velasco recordó que en total serán entre 15 y 20 Superjet100 Sukhoi los que prevé adquirir, aunque adelantó que la compra podría aumentar.

Cabe mencionar que Interjet anunció en enero de 2011, en Venecia, Italia, la compra de 15 aviones y cinco opciones del regional Sukhoi Superjet 100 a la fabricante Superjet.

(…) In an interview after the presentation of the Miguel Aleman Foundation Annual Report , Mr. Aleman Velasco mentioned to press the purchasing of SSJ100 aircraft.

He anticipated that the delivery will start in November with 4 or 5 aircraft.
This notwithstanding the accident occurred in Indonesia where 45 people were killed during a demo flight.

“All type of aircraft may have accidents. In our experience there are always bad factors influencing the flight like in this case: particular territory with high and low elevations and bad weather condition also did not allow proper visibility to the pilot.”

Miguel Alemán Velasco added that in total the SSJ100 in Interjet fleet will be 15-20 in total. Moreover, he anticipated that the order might be increased of additional aircraft.

It is noteworthy that Interjet announced in January 2011, in Venice, Italy, the purchase of 15 aircraft and five options for the regional jet Sukhoi Superjet 100.

Within the framework of training Aeroflot pilot crews the SSJ100 aircraft 97005 yesterday successfully performed four flights with total duration of two hours 40 minutes in Zhukovsky.

Each of the two Aeroflot pilots who completed the theoretical ground training and simulator sessions carried out two final base flights with the pilot-instructor from the Zhukovsky-based Training Center.

The program covered handling of major flight modes within the aircraft’s operational limits. In particular, it included normal landings and takeoffs as well as “touch and go” both in normal more and with the imitation of the engine failure.

Since December 2011 the Zhukovsky-based Training Center trained 54 pilots for Aeroflot.

On completion of Technical acceptance procedure, JSC “Sukhoi Civil Aircraft“ (SCAC) and Aeroflot signed today the Act of Delivery & Acceptance for the eighth deliverable Sukhoi Superjet 100 MSN 95014 at Komsomolsk-on-the Amur. The aircraft received the name after the famous Aeroflot’s pilot Evgeny Barabash and the tail number RA-89006.
 
The document, signed by the parties, states that the aircraft is technically sound and fully meets the performance criteria. The Act of Delivery & Acceptance also confirms that the SSJ100 is transferred to the carrier with a full set of required operational and maintenance documentation and flight kit. The aircraft is ready to start commercial operation on Aeroflot domestic and international route network.
 
The aircraft is planned to fly from Komsomolsk-on-the Amur to Moscow on May 23, 2012.

Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company informs that the Indonesian families of the SSJ100 crash victims are being indemnified. Payments for a total of IDR1.25 billion to each family started on Monday 30 July, 2012.

In the meantime, preparations to provide the families of the Russian citizens affected by this tragic accident with the insurance payments are underway, in accordance with Russian legislation.

The SSJ100 (Reg Number 97004) crash occurred in Indonesia on May 9, 2012 during a demonstration flight.

On June 22, 2012 in frame of the investigation of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 (97004) accident that happened in the area of Salak Mount in Indonesia on May 9, 2012 the National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) of Indonesia officially published its Immediate Recommendations. The document is issued in accordance with ICAO Annex 13 norms and includes recommendations to ATC, the aircraft manufacturer and, if needed, operators of the aircraft of such a type.

The document issued a series of recommendations about procedures for the preparation and conduct of demonstration flights, training for flight crews, minimum safe flight altitude for demo flights operated under Instrumental Flight Rules (IFR) and about passenger manifest delivering procedures.

Immediate Recommendations issued by KNKT do not include any recommendations for operators of the SSJ100 in service. The document does not have any special recommendations for the SSJ100 fleet in operation beyond the information already mentioned in the operational documentation. This documentation continues to be in effect and its provisions should be carried out inviolately.

In this connection all existing documents (Flight Manual, Maintenance Manual, etc) provided to operators contain all proper instructions to operate the aircraft.

Having received above-mentioned recommendations SCAC is making a comprehensive analysis of the procedures for demonstration flights preparation, which envisage that the crew should be properly aware of the meteorological, topographical and ornithological environment in the area of the flight when a flight plan is submitted.

Despite the fact that the investigation of the SSJ100 accident happened on May 9, 2012 has not completed so far, having deeply empathized to the victim families SCAC made decision to start the immediate activity to offer the financial support for these families in accordance with the Indonesian law.

Taking in account recommendations of the Indonesian House of Representatives SCAC believes it is possible to provide each family with the insurance payment of IDR1.25 billion.

The FDR of the SSJ100 aircraft #97004 is found and handed over to the investigation commission

May 31, 2012, Moscow – Yesterday evening the Flight data recorder (FDR) of the SSJ100 aircraft #97004 was found at approximately a kilometer of distance from the place of the aircraft collision with ground. This morning the FDR was officially handed over to the Investigation Commission of the National Committee for Transport Safety, KNKT. The unit is not essentially damaged.

The commission is currently inspecting the FDR. After the inspection the Indonesian experts will start to decode the FDR data. The activities will be done in presence of SCAC’s experts that are currently in Indonesia. If necessary, SCAC is ready to provide both technical and expert support in running these works.

“We thank our Indonesian colleagues for carrying out search works in difficult conditions on site. The rescue of the FDR will allow the definition of a clear picture of the event and will expedite the investigation”, noted SCAC President Vladimir Prisyazhnyuk.

The farewell ceremony for the victims of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 accident, happened in the Salak mount area on May 9 2012, was held today at Halim Perdanakusuma airport of Jakarta.

The Representatives of the Indonesian Government, the National Police Chief, the Head of the Indonesian Search and Rescue Agency, representatives of domestic airlines (whose employees were on board of the SSJ100 aircraft #97004), the Russian Ambassador in Indonesia Alexander Ivanov and representatives of Sukhoi Civil Aircraft attended the ceremony. During the ceremony the remains were handed over to the families from Indonesia and representatives of the Russian, French and USA Embassies.

The bodies of SCAC employees will be delivered to Moscow on May 24, 2012 by a special charter flight. The Russian Embassy completed necessary documents.

Today in Jakarta the National Committee for Transport Safety (KNKT) of Indonesia and the Russian side signed the protocol on the results of joint activity in investigation of the SSJ100 #97004 accident.

According to the signed document, the preliminary analysis of the CVR data showed the following: indications of the failure of the aircraft’s systems and components were not discovered, the terrain and collision avoidance system T2CAS was functionally operative in flight and provided crew with information on the hazardous ground proximity.

Due to the fact that the flight data recorder (FDR) has not been found, works on detailed analysis of the radar information of the air traffic control (ATC) will continue. This is necessary to plot the aircraft’s flight path and synchronize ATC and CVR data.

The document signed by KNKT Chairman Tanang Kurniadi and Deputy Russian Minister for Industry and Trade Yuri Slyusar also noted the need to continue the search for the FDR by the Indonesian side. The Indonesian side will continue the search for the FDR.

“We highly value the professionalism of our Indonesian colleagues and their Russian counterparts that participated in the work of the commission.  From our side, SCAC will ensure maximum collaboration in supply of any data necessary to conduct a thorough and comprehensive investigation of the accident” – said Vladimir Prisyazhyuk, SCAC President.

Today the medical-legal expertise department of the Jakarta’s police hospital continued the identification of victims with the collaboration of a team from the Russian medical-legal expertise center of the Ministry of Health and Social Development.

Professor Ivanov, a leading Russian expert in the DNA identification analysis, started to help Indonesian specialists in performing procedures on site.
The search for the FDR and the collection of aircraft’s fragments are to continue with participation of the Russian MChS team.

Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC) expresses condolences to families of victims of the SSJ100 aircraft accident on May 9, 2012 in the area of mountain Salak in Indonesia.

SCAC President Vladimir Prisyazhnyuk stated that all people who were on board were properly insured.
He stressed that SCAC guarantees the adherence of all legal requirements of the victims’ families regarding the claims for compensation upon completion of all necessary procedures.
The Indonesian National Committee of Transportation is making every possible effort to determine the causes investigating together with Russian experts.
“Works to identify victims including confirmation of the genetic identification are being carried out. We hope that this work will be completed at extremely short time requested for such examinations”, noted Vladimir Prisyazhnyuk.

Today the CVR of the 97004 aircraft was found and delivered to the laboratory in Jakarta. The CVR was opened in the presence of representatives of the Investigation Agency of the Indonesian Transport Ministry, KNRN, and the Russian team. A decision on the order of the data decoding was made on the basis of the CVR inspection.

It was decided that the data decoding will be carried out at the KNKT (National Transportation Safety Committee) in Indonesia. The Russian side will provide necessary equipment and software. The FDR has not been found so far.

A list of actions to properly decode the CVR data was formed. Decoding will be done at the KNKT jointly with the Russian team headed by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Yuri Slyusar and consisting of consultants from the IAC AR, Aviaprom JSC, Russian State Air Traffic Control Corp and SCAC.

The analysis of the air traffic control conditions during the 97004 demo flight is being performed in frame of the investigation.

The box has been recovered last night and delivered to the Investigation Committee which has started preliminary analysis early morning today.

Today a team consisting of five alpinists from the Russian MChS rescue center jointly with the Indonesian military group reached the lowest area of the crash site in order to pick up the plane’s wreckage.

The working team will also continue to search for the aircraft’s parts as per sectors. Two severely damaged engines, nose landing gear and a tire of the main landing gear were found. Flight recorders have not been found so far.

The Indonesian Emergency Situations Ministry officially announced that nobody survived in the accident.

The search operation of the victims will be resumed at dawn.

The medical-legal expertise department of the Jakarta’s police hospital with the collaboration of a team from the Russian medical-legal expertise center of the Ministry of Health and Social Development will continue the identification of victims.

The SAR operation has continued today, facing the worsening of weather conditions.

A group in charge of searching and recovering aircraft equipment was forced to postpone its work due to the weather and the consequent inability to prepare the proper sketch maps.

Fragments of the flight test equipment, radio unit, APU electronics unit and other onboard equipment components were found today.

Flight recorders have not been found so far.

Today the Russian delegation met with the Vice President of Indonesia to discuss issues related to the aircraft accident investigation.

“The search activities to find people who were on board of the aircraft 97004 have continued today. As before, weather conditions and extremely limited accessibility of the searching area making these works very difficult.

The high professional team from the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situation (MChS) joined the Indonesian rescuers. The second MChS aircraft RA-76429 arrived to Indonesia today at 2 pm local time.

The team in charge of the accident area inspection and sketch map preparation left the rescuers camp and moved to the accident location.

The team includes two Sukhoi Civil Aircraft specialists and four representatives of the Indonesian investigation commission.

The team will spend a night near the mountain with the intent of starting the map sketching, focalizing on the research of Flight Data and Voice Recorders early in the morning”.

“Today the Indonesian search-rescue forces discovered the location of the SSJ100 aircraft MSN 95004 missed yesterday from radars of Halim Airport when the aircraft performed the second demo flight.

The aircraft was found at the area with approximately 1,700 meter geographic altitude.

Weather conditions and wild mountain area are making the rescue activity very difficult. The first rescue team reached the place of the accident. Over 500 people are involved in the search operations.

According to updated data 45 people were aboard.

At this time, all our resources are devoted in assisting the authorities with the investigations, aimed at determining the cause of the accident.”

The airplane SSJ100 is reported as missing while the airplane was flying during a demonstration flight in Indonesia (from Jakarta-Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport). Prior to the flight the aircraft went through the full pre-flight check and showed the proper technical condition. Today the aircraft also had performed one more demonstration flight, which went without any technical problems.

The aircraft did not report any failure before disappearing from the radar screens.

The aircraft was piloted by a very experienced crew consisting of the SSJ100 Chief test pilot Alexander Yablontsev and his co-pilot Alexander Kochetkov. Captain Alexander Yablontzev has accumulated over 10.000 flight hours during his career. He was in command when the first prototype of SSJ100 took to the sky.

The Sukhoi Superjet 100 MSN 95004 made its first flight on July 25, 2009 and has accumulated over 800 f/h in over 500 flights. No serious technical problems have ever been reported.

Now SCAC is verifying the list of the people on board.

In a few hours a delegation of top management of United Aircraft Corporation, Sukhoi Civil Aircraft and representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade is going to Jakarta in order to assist and support local authorities.

SCAC will updated this first release whenever additional pertinent information are available.

The funeral was held at Bykovo cemetery with military honors.

The farewell ceremonies for two SCAC employees, the contract manager Kristina Kurzhupova and the sales director Evgeny Grebenshchikov took place in Moscow on May 25 and 26, 2012.

We respect, appreciate, love our colleagues and we sincerely grieve for their premature death. They will be present in our mind and heart forever.

During this difficult time we would wish to extend our deepest condolences to the families of the 45 passengers and crew who are believed to have been killed in this tragic accident, and would like to assure them that every effort is being made to determine what went wrong and why.

In order to accelerate a process of the final assembly of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) aircraft, Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (SCAC) and Aviastar-SP, a United Aircraft Corporation production facility based in Ulyanovsk, concluded the cooperation agreement on interior installation.

Today the SSJ100 production aircraft MSN 95017 to be delivered to Aeroflot arrived in Ulyanovsk from Komsomolsk-on-the Amur for the first interior installation at the Aviastar premises. Than the aircraft will be painted at the Spektr-Avia facility.

The Aviastar-SP has allocated a dedicated workspace in a hangar to conduct the interior installation on four SSJ100 simultaneously. Beginning from MSN 95017 the interiors for SCAC customers will be mounted at this facility by a team of specialists, trained and qualified by SCAC to perform the procedure.

“We believe that the cooperation between SCAC and Aviastar-SP, which has a great experience in the aircraft assembly, will help to ramp up the SSJ100 production. The Aviastar interior mount facility will become an important part of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 Program production chain”, noted SCAC President Vladimir Prisyazhnyuk.

“It is important for us to diversify the product and service range of Aviastar-SP through the participation in cooperation related to the modern UAC products. It will pave the way to effective the use our high potential in terms of both production capacities and skilled personnel”, said Aviastar-SP Director General Sergey Dementiev.

Since July 2011 Spektr-Avia located at the Aviastar-SP territory has performed painting of the SSJ100 aircraft aimed for delivery to the SCAC customers. It has already painted seven production aircraft (MSN from 95010 to 95016).

On the 16th of April 2012 Direccion General de Aeronautica Civil, the Aviation Authority of Mexico, provided Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC) with the Validating Letter (Type Certificate) for the Sukhoi Superjet 100 (model RRJ-95B) aircraft.
This document confirms the compliance of the SSJ100 aircraft to the certification requirements of the Mexican Aviation Authority and allows the delivery and operations of aircraft of such a type in Mexico without limitations.

“For the first year of commercial operations the Sukhoi Superjet 100 revealed remarkable operational results and outstanding safety performance and the certification of our aircraft in Mexico reflects the international recognition of our aircraft safety and performance features. It is important for the delivery of SSJ100 to the Interjet airline, the first SSJ100 customer in the Latin America,” said SCAC First Vice-president for development and certification Igor Vinogradov.

In January 2011 the Mexican airline Interjet signed a contract with SuperJet International for the purchase of 15 SSJ100 plus five options. The delivery of the first aircraft is scheduled for the end of the year 2012..

Just a year ago, on the 21st of April 2011, the first production Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) aircraft operated by the Armenian airline, Armavia, performed the first scheduled flight on route Yerevan – Moscow, marking the start of the commercial operations of the brand new commercial aircraft. Armavia puts the new aircraft (MSN 95007, register number EK 95015) in service an extremely short period of time – in two days after the official delivery.

By April 20, 2012 Armavia’s SSJ100 aircraft accumulated more than 1,870 flight hours in more than 760 revenue flights. The SSJ100 carried over 48,000 passengers and covered distance more than 1.4 million kilometers. Armavia SSJ100 regularly performed flights from Yerevan to 34 airports in Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Western and Southern Europe and Middle East including Moscow, St Petersburg, Madrid, Paris, Rome, Venice, Amsterdam, Athens and Dubai. Flights were performed at 35000 – 39000 ft altitude, at the speed of 0.78-0.8 M. The highest daily utilization reached 16.5 flight hours while the longest distance exceeded 4,000 kilometers on route Yerevan – Madrid. The SSJ100 fully confirmed to be suitable both to regional and to short-haul routes.

The best results in terms of number of flights per month and monthly utilization stood at 88 flights and 224 hours in November 2011 and 91 flights and 213 hours in February 2012.
For the first year of operations the first production SSJ100 aircraft, equipped with the brand new SaM146 engines, revealed remarkable operational results and outstanding safety performance.

This milestone was also achieved thanks to a full-fledged after-sales support organization managed by SuperJet International (responsible for the technical support of the aircraft operations and maintenance as well as for training). Its Customer Services provides Armavia with the first class-service agreement “SuperCare Plan” covering the entire spectrum of supporting activities.

Aeroflot Russian Airlines puts its seventh Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft (SSJ100) in operation. The first revenue flight of the airliner, named after the famous Aeroflot pilot Georgy Benkunsky, will be performed soon.

The Sukhoi Superjet 100 MSN 95016 (registered number RA-89008) was delivered to Aeroflot under contract with the VEB-Leasing JSC on financial lease (leasing). The delivered aircraft is designed to carry 87 passengers in a comfortable two-class layout (12 – business class and 75 – in economy class).

Aeroflot ordered 30 SSJ100 aircraft in total.

On completion of Technical acceptance procedure, Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (SCAC) and Aeroflot signed today the Act of Delivery & Acceptance for the seventh deliverable Sukhoi Superjet 100 MSN 95016 at Komsomolsk-on-the Amur. The aircraft received the name after the famous Aeroflot’s pilot Georgy Benkunsky and the tail number RA-89008.

The document, signed by the parties, states that the aircraft is technically sound and fully meets the performance criteria. The Act of Delivery & Acceptance also confirms that the SSJ100 is transferred to the carrier with a full set of required operational and maintenance documentation and flight kit. The aircraft is ready to start commercial operation on Aeroflot domestic and international route network.

The aircraft is planned to fly from Komsomolsk-on-the Amur to Moscow on April 9, 2012.

Aeroflot Russian Airlines puts its sixth Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft (SSJ100) in operation. The airliner is painted in the SkyTeam livery.

The Sukhoi Superjet 100 MSN 95013 (registered number RA-89005) was delivered to Aeroflot under contract with the VEB-Leasing JSC on financial lease (leasing). The delivered aircraft is designed to carry 87 passengers in a comfortable two-class layout (12 – business class and 75 – in economy class).

Aeroflot ordered 30 SSJ100 aircraft in total. The airline currently operates six SSJ100 aircraft serving routes from Moscow to 13 Russian cities as well as to Minsk, Budapest Oslo and Stockholm. Aeroflot operations confirm that the aircraft perfectly match their requirements in terms of high frequency departures on regional routes.

By February 29, 2012 six SSJ100s in service with Armavia and Aeroflot accumulated more than 4,900 flight hours in more than 2,500 revenue flights.

The Full Flight Simulator (FFS) for training on Airbus 320 family aircraft, available at the SuperJet International’s Training Center in Venice (Italy), has received today the FSTD Certification by the Italian Civil Aviation Authority (ENAC).

The certification audit has been positively completed by ENAC, thus confirming the Certification of the device as FFS level D according to JAR-FSTD A.

In November 2011 the simulator was transferred from Alitalia Training Center in Rome to the SuperJet International Training Center in Tessera (Venice), close to the “Marco Polo” international airport.

Today SuperJet International’s facility in Venice represents a Flight Training Organization (FTO) able to supply a Type-rating course on A320 family fully integrated with Multi Crew Cooperation (MCC) through the utilization of a Frasca 242J MCC, thus offering flexibility to trainees and permitting this type-rating course to a larger series of pilots with different skill background.

“SJI is working intensively and dealing with several potential customers. The first feedbacks are definitely positive and confirmed an increased interest in our training services. We are confident and expect to close long-term deals in a very short term” said Nazario Cauceglia, recently appointed as Chief Executive Officer of SuperJet International.

Courses will be managed by a wide selected and highly experienced team of SuperJet International’s professionals with airline’s operations background.

The A320 family Full Flight Simulator allows SJI to enlarge its training opportunities in addition to the SSJ100 training services currently provided through the utilization of the SSJ100 FFS, already operational at SJI Training Center in Zhukovsky (Moscow).  At the same time, SuperJet International is working for the preparation to the entry into service of SSJ100 Interjet fleet and for the start of training courses to Interjet pilots.

In terms of technologies, the SSJ100 aircraft has similar characteristics to the Airbus A320 family. This parallel activity will permit SJI to extend its experience and become a highly technologically Training Center offering multi-aircraft training services.

SuperJet International’s Board of Directors has appointed Nazario Cauceglia new Chief Executive Officer of SuperJet International, joint venture between Alenia Aermacchi (51%), a Finmeccanica company, and Sukhoi Holding (49%).

Nazario Cauceglia, who was Chief Technical Officer of former Alenia Aeronautica (Alenia Aermacchi),  succeeds to Carlo Logli, to whom has been conveyed high appreciation of the worthy efforts spent for the benefit of the Company during these past years and for the success achieved within the Sukhoi Superjet 100 Program.

The certificate recognizes that the SSJ100 complies with EASA strict airworthiness and environmental requirements. The validation allows European airlines and carriers operating in countries using EASA regulations as reference standard, accept and operate the SSJ100.

The Sukhoi Superjet 100 represents the first Russian passenger aircraft certified according to EASA CS-25.

This EASA certificate obtainment became the result of vast certification campaign performed by EASA, IAC AR and SCAC in association with Certification centers, Alenia Aermacchi (former Alenia Aeronautica) and key aircraft systems suppliers.

The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) issued today its Type Certificate A-176 for the Sukhoi Superjet 100 (model RRJ-95B). This certificate recognizes that the SSJ100 aircraft demonstrated compliance with the EASA airworthiness and environmental requirements. The recognition allows the European airlines, as well as those airlines operating in countries which use EASA regulations as a reference standard, to accept and operate the SSJ100 (RRJ-95B) aircraft. This result represents a key milestone in support of the brand credibility of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 which is the first ever Russian passenger “Large Airplane” to achieve the EASA CS-25 Certification.

The EASA certificate, which is a validation of the certificate issued by the Interstate Aviation Committee Aviation Register (IAC AR),  is the result of the vast certification campaign performed by EASA, IAC AR and SCAC in association with Certification centers, Alenia Aermacchi (former Alenia Aeronautica) and key aircraft systems suppliers.

The European validation started after IAC AR certification application in 2004 and went through the four different phases, in parallel with the Russia Certification process: Familiarization, Agreement of Certification Programs, Compliance Determination and Final Project Report. The European Authority firstly familiarized with the aircraft, then deeply examined the aircraft technical characteristics and, in the last period, got proof of its performances and safety. The overall process allowed to assess the compliance with the strict European Airworthiness Code, resulting in the issue of the Type Certificate.

Thanks to the experience and dedication of the fully integrated multicultural SSJ100 Team, the EASA Certificate has been granted only one year after the achievement of the IAC AR Type Certificate.

The European validation program included several dedicated flight and ground tests. In particular the EASA pilots went through many sessions on the “electronics bird” (SCAC integrated simulator and RIG for the SSJ100) and participated in 45 certification flights (total duration about 70 flight hours) in order to prove the safety and in-flight performance of the SSJ100 aircraft in any situation. The ground tests covered, among others, the ultimate pressure load of the fuselage, the bird strike of the front upper cockpit panel, the broken-tire strike of the lower hatch cover of the wing fuel tank and the fire-resistance of the composite flap. In the frame of ten working groups (“Panels”) 84 Certification Review Items and 60 Certification Action Items were analyzed, substantiated and agreed while more than 500 actions and questions received from the Authorities were timely and satisfactory closed.

“The job we have done together is really great. We sincerely thank our colleagues from the EASA and IAC AR for their big support. The European certification is a key milestone in getting worldwide recognition of our aircraft which will open up new perspectives for the Sukhoi Superjet 100 in the international markets,” – said Vladimir Prisyazhnyuk, President of Sukhoi Civil Aircraft.

This great moment gains even more meaning, considering  the strong international nature of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 project that comes from a new Russian growing reality, along with the Alenia Aermacchi strategic partnership, the reliable Customer Services provided by SuperJet International and Snecma capability as one of the key figures for the Powerjet SaM146 engine.

The list of the international and Russian suppliers to be mentioned would be endless, all the involved ones provided SCAC with really advanced products. Nevertheless it should be specially noted a great contribution of the main suppliers Thales, Liebherr, Messier-Bugatti-Dowty, Hamilton-Sundstrand and B/E Aerospace that enriched our product with their superb technology.

Surely, this wide integration of parts, processes and cultures created challenges, but has also been the trademark of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 since the beginning of the program and it is now a reason to be proud of, allowing SCAC and SJI to deliver their worldwide customers an extremely advanced and performing aircraft.
The EASA Type Certificate will be officially handed over to Sukhoi Civil Aircraft on February 24, 2012 at IAC AR Headquarters in Moscow.

Aeromexico Connect and the mainline Aeromexico carrier, however, still hold a combined market share of around 40%.
According to figures provided by Mexico’s civil aviation authority DGAC and the airlines, 25.4 million passengers flew on domestic flights in 2011, only slightly more than in 2010 and still well below the 27.6 passengers that flew within Mexico in 2008.

Airlines including Aviacsa and Mexicana were grounded in the following two years, altering the domestic passenger market.
Interjet benefitted most from the demise of Mexicana, growing its passenger numbers by 58% to 6.3 million and taking over a share of its Mexico City International airport originating traffic. In 2010, Interjet held a 16.3% market share.

Aeromexico Connect holds a 20% market share with 5.2 million passengers and Aeromexico itself handled five million domestic passengers. Volaris came in fourth with 4.6 million passengers, although a recent big Airbus A320 order may put it on the fast track to improving its showing.

On January 17, 2012, PowerJet received the type certificate for its SaM146 1S18 regional jet engine from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

“The SaM146 1S18 type certificate marks another major milestone for PowerJet,” said Jacques Desclaux, Chairman and CEO of PowerJet. “This version of the engine significantly extends the range of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) regional jet.”

One of the main features of the new SaM146 1S18 version is higher takeoff thrust (16,100 lb), enabling the Sukhoi Superjet 100/95 Long Range to operate at higher maximum takeoff weight (MTOW) and increase its range to 4,578 km (2,470 nautical miles) with a full passenger load. It uses the same hardware as other engines in the family, requiring no change in aircraft configuration.

Since entering service in April 2011, the SaM146-powered Sukhoi Superjet 100 has confirmed its performance in revenue service. At December 31, 2011, the SaM146 has logged more than 6,500 flight-hours, flying to over 40 destinations worldwide. The SaM146 has also recorded excellent dispatch reliability, exceeding 99%.

EASA and Russian certification agency IAC AR (Interstate Aviation Committee Aviation Register) issued the SaM146 1S17 type certificate on June 23 and August 9, 2010, respectively, certifying the SaM146 for service on regional jet aircraft.

The opening ceremony of the Training center for the flight and technical staff of customers and operators of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) aircraft was held today in Zhukovsky. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Russian Government, Aviation Authorities, Interstate Aviation Committee, Russian aircraft industry and institutes, airlines-operators of the SSJ100, Russian financial organizations and leading media.

The Training center offers the complete cycle of training for flight and technician staff of the SSJ100 customers and has a range of the most advanced training equipment and simulators including Computer Based Training (CBT), Flight Procedure Training Device (FPTD), Flight Training Device (FTD LV), Full Flight Simulator (FFS) and Cabin Emergency Evacuation Trainer (CEET).

The training for pilots and technician staff is being carried out in the Training Center in Zhukovsky (Moscow) according to the program approved by the Russian Aviation Authority Rosaviatsiya with extensive use of the advanced simulators. Due to its current modern equipment the Training Center is able to train up to 180 pilots and 250 technicians annually starting from 2012.

Training for flight and technician staff of the SSJ100 customers is conducted by SuperJet International – a joint venture between the Italian Alenia Aeronautica and the Russian Sukhoi Holding.

JSC “Sukhoi Civil Aircraft”, a Sukhoi and Alenia Aeronautica Company, provides the proper functioning of the installed training equipment.
By the end of November 2011 19 crews (38 pilots) and 93 technicians were trained (with a previous version of the course being the FFS not yet available) for Aeroflot and Armavia. Three more crews (6 pilots without previous “glass cockpit” experience) of Aeroflot should be trained by the end of December 2011.

The Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft (RA 89002, MSN 95010) in operation with Aeroflot Russian Airlines performed a flight SU391/392 on route Moscow – Oslo – Moscow, marking the beginning of the scheduled services of the airline’s international destinations by aircraft of this type. It is expected that this year Aeroflot’s SSJ100 aircraft will also fly to Budapest.

Aeroflot currently operates three SSJ100 aircraft which serve routes from Moscow to St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Yekaterinburg, Ufa, Astrakhan, Chelyabinsk, Kazan, Anapa, Perm and Minsk. On December 4 these aircraft started to serve international routes of the airline. Aeroflot’s operations confirm that the aircraft is able to serve efficiently regional routes with the high frequency of departure.

A Full Flight Simulator (FFS) for training on Airbus 320 family aircraft has been put in place in Venice (Italy) at the SuperJet International’s Training Center.

The A320 FFS is an EASA (JAR-FSTD A) fully compliant Synthetic training device. The FFS has been transferred from Alitalia Training Center in Rome to the SuperJet International Training Center in Tessera (Venice), close to the International Marco Polo airport.

The installation will last around 30 days. In February 2012 the simulator will be submitted to the approval of the Italian Civil Aviation Authority (ENAC) and training courses will start accordingly.

With this acquisition, SuperJet International’s facility in Venice becomes a Flight Training Organization (FTO) able to supply a Type-rating course on A320 family fully integrated with Multi Crew Cooperation (MCC) through the utilization of a Frasca 242J MCC as well, thus permitting this type-rating course to a larger series of young or not completely expert pilots.

The courses will be managed by a selected and highly experienced team of SuperJet International’s professionals with airline’s operations background.

The first conference on the Sukhoi Superjet aircraft operations by Armavia Airlines was held at the headquarters of Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC) in Moscow on November 22, 2011. Representatives of Armavia, SCAC, SuperJet International (SJI) and PowerJet attended the conference.The positive results achieved during the conference confirmed the successful commercial operation and efficiency of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100). During seven months of operations (from April 21 to November 20) the aircraft totaled 528 revenue flights and over 1,300 flight hours. The SSJ100 carried over 33,000 passengers and covered distance nearly a million kilometers.

Armavia SSJ100 regularly performs flights from Yerevan to 31 airports in Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Western and Southern Europe and Middle East. Flights were performed at 35000 – 39000 ft altitude, at the speed of 0.78-0.8 M. The highest daily utilization reached 16.5 flight hours while the longest distance exceeded 4,000 kilometers on route Yerevan – Madrid. The SSJ100 fully confirmed to be suitable both to regional and to short-haul routes.“Operations of our first production aircraft by Armavia match our expectations. I am confident that the SSJ100 will be efficiently operated by all our customers. Together with our partners on the SSJ100 Program we will actively listen to the airlines’ needs and rapidly fulfill their requirements”, said JSC Sukhoi Civil Aircraft First Vice-President for design and certification Igor Vinogradov.

During the conference the SuperJet International’s customer support had the opportunity to register Armavia’s impression on the multifaceted after-sales infrastructure to best support the SSJ100 program and to pave the way for further improvements. A firmly positive feedback from Armavia was received in particular on the highly professional training services offered to Armavia’s pilots, cabin crews and maintenance staff.

Aeroflot’s Sukhoi Superjet 100 fleet accumulated 1,000 commercial flights. The jubilee flight SU824 was performed by the aircraft named after Mikhail Vodopyanov (RA 89003, MSN 95008) on route St Petersburg – Moscow on November 23, 2011. The SSJ100 fleet of Aeroflot scored nearly 1,600 flight hours.“The one – thousandth commercial flight performed by Aeroflot’s SSJ100 fleet confirms the superior operational performance of our aircraft.

We see that the SSJ100 is becoming an excellent tool for the development of the Aeroflot regional network. We will do our best to make sure that the growing fleet of SSJ100 meets the expectations of the airline”, noted Vladimir Prisyazhnyuk, President of JSC “Sukhoi Civil Aircraft”.Aeroflot currently operates three SSJ100 aircraft which serve routes from Moscow to St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Yekaterinburg, Ufa, Astrakhan, Chelyabinsk, Kazan and Minsk. These aircraft will also start to serve international routes of the airline this year. Aeroflot’s operations confirm that the aircraft is able to serve efficiently regional routes with the high frequency of departure.

On November 21, 2011 the Sukhoi Superjet 100 flight prototype MSN95004 aircraft successfully performed the first two automatic landings Cat IIIA with different configurations of the wing high-lift system on the airfield in Zhukovsky, Moscow Region. The aircraft was handled by the SCAC flight crew consisted of the Chief pilot Alexander Yablontsev and test pilot Vadim Shirokikh.

These flights marked the beginning of the new series of the development and certification tests for expanding operational conditions of the aircraft aiming to get Supplement to the SSJ100 Type Certificate in terms of the automatic landings Cat IIIA. This supplement will allow to perform automatic landings in the low visibility weather conditions (pilots may not apply controls) up to the moment when the aircraft starts to run along the runway.

The new Full Flight Simulator (FFS) of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft is ready to start training for Russian pilots.

The FFS, produced by French manufacturer Thales,  is a highly technologically synthetic training device replicating the SSJ100 cockpit. It has been put in place in Zhukovsky, Moscow Region, by the Training Center managed by SuperJet International, the joint venture between Alenia Aeronautica – a Finmeccanica Company – and Sukhoi Holding.

The FFS has been submitted to the applicable international standards with several functional tests and it has finally reached the approval by the Russian Aviation Authority Rosavjacia in compliance with an  “interim Level C” per JAR FSTD ( EASA ).

The simulator is currently available to provide first class training. By the end of November the first Type Rating Course for Aeroflot pilots will regularly start.

The training program will include three stages. First, a theoretical ground training to illustrate all the systems of the aircraft which is conducted with the use of a Computer Based Training (CBT)  and with hands on training on a  simulating the man/machine interface of the cockpit called FPTD (Flight Procedure Training Device).

Second, a practical training of 32 hours to make experience of conducting the aircraft and to fulfill Multi Crew Cooperation (MCC) course, with the use of the Flight Training Device (FTD).

The third stage of 48 flight hours will be performed on the advanced Full Flight Simulator.

The new SSJ100 FFS “Reality 7” is equipped with LCOS Projectors for the Visual System, Electro-Hydraulic Motion System and new IOS Station with improved ergonomics.

The innovative visual system grants to show a virtual external scenario recreating what a pilot can see during the various phases of  operations in flight. In this way the pilot receives the same feedbacks he may perceive on the real aircraft.

This state of the art device will allow Russian pilots to improve their skills and achieve the Type Rating training without using the real aircraft.

At a second stage, the device will be upgraded to the “level D” which is the maximum level of certification for the FFS according to JAR FSTD A regulation, with the possibility to have ZFTT programs (zero flight time training) in the future.

The courses will be managed by the instructors of SuperJet International responsabile worldwide for training of the overall SSJ100 fleet.

Thales Training & Simulation is going to deliver two additional FFS for the SSJ100 in 2012. One will be installed in Moscow and the other one in the SJI training center in Venice, where in 2012 additional training programs will engage the Interjet crews, in accordance with the first delivery’s schedule.

SuperJet International, which is in charge of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 sales in the Western markets, is also responsible for training and after-sales support all over the world. Given the international nature of the product, SuperJet International has established two facilities based in Venice and in Moscow for its training opportunities.

From November 16 to 18, 2011 SuperJet International will participate in the ALTA Aviation Leaders Forum 2011.

Alta is the largest event in the Latin America and Caribbean commercial aviation industry. This year the Convention will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
In the intent of promoting SJI brand and the Sukhoi Superjet 100 program, the Alta Forum provides a variety of networking opportunities.
Latin America is a key market for SuperJet International. At the beginning of the 2011 SJI finalised a contract with Mexico’s Interjet airline for the purchase of 15 Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft.

Aeroflot Russian Airlines puts its third Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft (SSJ100) in operation. The airliner, named after the famous Aeroflot pilot Ivan Orlovets, performed its first scheduled flight SU713/714 on route Moscow  – Nizhny Novgorod – Moscow.
 

The Sukhoi Superjet 100 MSN 95011 was delivered to Aeroflot under contract with the VEB-Leasing JSC on financial lease (leasing). The delivered aircraft is designed to carry 87 passengers in a comfortable two-class layout (12 – business class and 75 – in economy class).

Aeroflot ordered 30 SSJ100 aircraft in total.

Aeroflot currently operates three SSJ100 aircraft serving routes from Moscow to St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Yekaterinburg, Ufa, Astrakhan, Chelyabinsk, Kazan and Minsk. In the mid of November these aircraft will also fly on international routes starting with flight to Oslo. By November 6, the two SSJ100 in service with Aeroflot totalized 824 flights and over 1,293 hours. Aeroflot operations confirm that the aircraft perfectly match their requirements in terms of high frequency departures on regional routes.

This delivery represents the fourth SSJ100 in service with Armavia and Aeroflot.

Tests performed at TsAGI (Central Aerohydrodynamics Institute in Zhukovksy, Moscow)at the end of October 2011 confirmed the static strength of the SSJ100 fuselage in accordance with aviation rules CS-25 (Certification Specifications – Large Airplanes) of EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency).

In the frame of additional certification static tests, the cabin of the SSJ100 prototype MSN 95002 was loaded with extra internal pressure. The fuselage withstood the ultimate pressure load which nearly doubled the operational one. Tests confirmed the SSJ100 expected strenght performance. Namely, the aircraft proved to meet the additional requirements of EASA in terms of static strength.

“The results granted to timely prepare the final report on the EASA certification program. The European certification will allow not only to start the commercial operations of the SSJ100 by western airlines, but also to boost the SSJ100 sales worldwide”, – said Sukhoi Civil Aircraft first Vice-president for design and certification Igor Vinogradov.

“These tests represent a great milestone, both in terms of the SSJ100 aircraft development, and new methods of static strength testing. For these specific tests a new dedicated experimental facility was established in TsAGI and the SSJ100 fuselage was equipped with special explosive protection system”, – said TsAGI Deputy Director General Mikhail Zichenkov.

The static tests on the SSJ100 fuselage accomplished at TsAGI Institute represent a major step ahead in the achievement of EASA Certification, expected by the end of 2011.

On November 1, on completion of Technical acceptance procedure, JSC SCA and Aeroflot signed the Acceptance Act for the third deliverable Sukhoi Superjet 100 SN95011. The aircraft received the name after the famous Aeroflot’s pilot Ivan Orlovtsev and the tail number RA-89003.

The document, signed by the parties, states that the aircraft is technically sound, it fully meets the performance criteria without any operational limitations. The Acceptance Act also confirms that SSJ100 is transferred to the carrier with a full set of required operational and maintenance documentation.

On November 7 the aircraft will arrive to Moscow and start commercial operation on the Aeroflot route network.

Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC) hosted today the official visit of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic President, Mr. Choummaly Sayasone. The President visited the SCAC Aviation Technical Centre in Zhukovsky, Moscow.

Mr Sayasone had the opportunity to see the new generation Sukhoi Superjet 100 regional jet and the simulators available for pilots training at the Training Center managed by SuperJet International, the joint venture between Alenia Aeronautica – a Finmeccanica Company – and Sukhoi Holding.

SCAC President Vladimir Prisyazhnyuk informed about the manufacture’s launching of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft for Lao Central Airlines (previously known as Phongsavanh Airlines) of Laos in the course of execution of the contract on delivery of three aircraft of such a type to the airline. Deliveries of aircraft are scheduled for the second half of 2012.

The Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) aircraft successfully went through additional certification trials on expanding operational conditions at the high altitude airports. Trials involved SSJ100 flight prototype MSN95004 and took place in the airport of Toluca, Mexico, from 14 to 30 September 2011. The airport is located at the altitude of 2,580 meters over the sea level. The aircraft came back to airfield of Zhukovsky, Moscow Region, Russia, on October 10, 2011.

Extensive ground and flight tests proved the proper functioning of the aircraft systems, equipment, engines and APU and confirmed declared takeoff and landing aircraft performances.

In Toluca the SSJ100 aircraft was also shown to the president and management of Interjet Airlines of Mexico which ordered 15 such aircraft in January 2011.

The report on the additional high altitude trials is being completed. It will be submitted to the Aviation Register of the Interstate Aviation Committee to get Supplement to the SSJ100 Type Certificate.

The Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) of Armavia scored 1,000 flight hours in revenue flights. The milestone was reached during the SSJ100 flight U8-151 performed on route Yerevan – Amsterdam on October 9 2011.

Since entering commercial service on April 21, 2011 the SSJ100 of Armavia carried more than 21,000 passengers and covered distance more than 650,000 kilometers. SSJ100 of Armavia performs flights from Yerevan to 27 airports in Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Western and South Europe and Middle East. Most flights were performed at 35000 – 39000ft altitude, at the speed of 0.78-0.8 M. The highest daily utilization reached 16.5 flight hours while the biggest distance exceeded 4,000 kilometers on route Yerevan – Madrid.

Such perfect result of the initial phase of the commercial operation of the brand new Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft was achieved due to the efficient activity of Armavia’s flight and technician staff and proper support from Sukhoi Civil Aircraft and SuperJet International.

SuperJet International – the joint venture between Alenia Aeronautica, a Finmeccanica Company, and Sukhoi Holding – has announced today a purchase agreement for two Sukhoi Business Jet (SBJ) aircraft plus two additional options, with Comlux The Aviation Group.

With this order Comlux becomes the launching customer of SuperJet International for this new type of VIP aircraft. Comlux represents one of the most innovative business aviation group worldwide, able to always offer to its VIP passengers new products for their travel needs.

The deliveries of the two SBJ aircraft are planned for the 2014.

The order has an estimated value of US $200 million, including options.

Before the entry into service, the VIP cabin interior of the aircraft will be designed and outfitted by Comlux America, the completion center of the Comlux Group, based in Indianapolis USA. Comlux America is appointed as the first approved Sukhoi Business Jet completion Center.

The Sukhoi Business Jet is the VIP aircraft version of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 regional airliner. It offers a spacious and ultra quiet cabin of 118 m3 / 4192 ft3, and a range of approximately 4300 nm (8000 km), thanks to its additional fuel tanks. The launch of the VIP aircraft version comes just four months after thesuccessful entry-into-service of the SSJ100 in April 2011.

Mr. Miguel Aleman Velasco, Chairman of the Board Interjet and Mr. Miguel Aleman Magnani, Executive President of Interjet visited the Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft at Toluca airport, in Mexico.

The aircraft SSJ100 S/N 97004 was present at the Toluca hub, closed to the Interjet maintenance centre, in order to accomplish high-altitude tests.
On this occasion, Interjet management had the opportunity to go on board and visit the aircraft’s interiors.

Mr. Miguel Aleman Velasco and Mr. Miguel Aleman Magnani appreciated the ample and comfortable cabin which perfectly matches Interjet’s quality standards.

Moreover, the Mexican Interjet chose the new generation regional jet SSJ100 because of its operational efficiency in the high altitude/high temperature typical of Mexico. Actually, the first results of the certification campaign in Toluca are confirming the excellent performance of the aircraft.

Interjet is currently the 2nd airline in the Mexican domestic market and a highly recognized airline in the Latin American region. With thirty-one A320 aircraft, Interjet is prepared to introduce the Sukhoi Superjet 100 fleet as the ideal complement of its fleet.

In January 2011 the Mexican airline signed a contract with SuperJet International for the purchase of 15 Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) aircraft in the 98 seat configuration, plus 5 options. The first deliveries are scheduled for the second half of 2012.

From the 28^th to the 30^th of September SuperJet International attended the 2011 ERA General Assembly, the European Regions Airlines Association, which took place in Rome, Italy.

SuperJet International was present with its own stand and a model of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) aircraft, the new generation regional jet.

SuperJet International enjoyed the opportunity to develop new business relations with potential customers and to speak to international media.

Several journalists participated to the SuperJet International’s press conference on the 29^th of September. Mr. Carlo Logli, Chief Executive Officer, provided them with SSJ100 Program Update. The Senior Vice-President Commercial Mr. Paolo Revelli-Beaumont talked about the SJI forecasts orders in the next months.

At this year’s ERA General Assembly, one session was focused on the in-flight technology and the future technological developments from the perspective of both the passengers and the operators. This session included an interesting presentation of Mary Kirby, Senior Editor of Flight International.

On the 29^th of September SuperJet International also participated to the prestigious ERA Awards Dinner.

Yesterday the Sukhoi Superjet 100 MSN 95011 production aircraft intended to be the third to enter into service with Aeroflot performed its first flight. The aircraft was piloted by SCAC pilots Leonid Chikunov and Gennady Pripuskov. During the 3hs. 18 min. flight, the pilots checked the overall engines, systems and equipment performance having confirmed the aircraft characteristics within operational range.

After completing the factory flight tests the aircraft will fly to Ulyanovsk to be painted in the Aeroflot’s livery at the Spektr-Avia facility. The delivery of the SSJ100 MSN 95011 to the airline is scheduled for October.

Next SSJ 100 MSN 95012, waiting for the engines to be delivered, is proceeding with the interior installation. As a part of the existing plan to transfer the interior mount to Ulyanovsk and thus boost the final assembly process, a qualified and trained team of Aviastar specialists is currently in Komsomolsk to perform the job. The interiors for the aircraft beginning from 95015 will be mounted in Ulyanovsk.

Aeroflot Russian Airlines puts its second Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft (SSJ100) in operation. The airliner named after the famous Aeroflot pilot Dmitry Ezersky will perform a scheduled flight on route Moscow – St. Petersburg – Moscow on August 27.

Sukhoi Superjet 100 SN 95010 was delivered to Aeroflot under contract with the VEB-Leasing JSC on financial lease (leasing). Delivered aircraft designed to carry 87 passengers in a comfortable two-class layout (12 – business class and 75 – in economy class).

Aeroflot ordered 30 SSJ100 aircraft in total. In the future the carrier plans to purchase ten more.

The first SSJ100 aircraft of Aeroflot entered in commercial operation on June 16 2011. By August 24 the SSJ100 totalized 223 flights and more than 356 hours. The aircraft serves routes from Moscow to St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Yekaterinburg and Ufa. Since Sept 2 it will fly to Astrakhan. Usually, the SSJ100 preformed three or four return flights per day, achieving daily utilization from 9 to 14,5 flight hours. Aeroflot’s operations confirm that the aircraft is able to serve efficiently regional routes with the high frequency of departure.
