SuperJet International: New SVP Commercial on-board

Stewart R. Cordner has been appointed today as Senior Vice President Commercial for SuperJet International (SJI). He joins SJI to take a leading role in the Sales & Marketing activities of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) Program. Stewart and his team based in Venice (Italy) will have the responsibility for delivering on SSJ100 sales and expanding the aircraft’s sales campaigns significantly in the coming years.

Stewart R. Cordner – 48 years old, born in Rochford, East of England – made his first steps in aviation in 1985 with British Aerospace. Over the past 32 years he has enjoyed a global career within commercial aviation. His wide hands-on experience have encompassed manufacturing, MRO, customer support and latterly for the last 15 years Aircraft Sales and Asset Management. Namely, he has worked for BAE Systems for more than 10 years and in 2010 he founded the Cordner Aviation Group, specializing in aircraft trading and marketing consultancy services. During his career, he has also held various positions overseas in Latin America, USA, China and Europe.

Stewart’s global and practical career experiences in many different multi-cultural settings represented a valuable addition also for Ilyushin Finance Corporation, where he joined in October 2012 as Sales and Marketing Director.

“Having lived and operated worldwide for almost all my career in aviation, I am enthusiastic to start this new challenge in SuperJet International and give to the SSJ100 Program the success it deserves” states Stewart Cordner. “This appointment is aimed at setting a noticeable change of direction” noted the CEO of SuperJet International, Stefano Marazzani, who adds: “Stewart’s experience and passion will consolidate and strengthen our relations with existing and future customers. His knowledge and hard knocks experience blended with his heart will lead the SSJ100 Program to higher results”.

Stewart graduated at Loughborough University Business School in Industrial Sales and Marketing. His main interests are world-wide politics, aviation developments and travel. He is married with two sons.
