Farewell Ceremony for the crash victims

On May 29, 2012 in Zhukovsky (Moscow Region) hundreds of people participated in the farewell ceremony for the Sukhoi Civil Aircraft’s pilots and engineers who died during the accident occurred on May 9, 2012 to the SSJ100 aircraft in Indonesia. The victims were:
– Chief Test Pilot Alexander Yablontsev
– Test Pilot Alexander Kochetkov
– Test Navigator Oleg Shvetsov
– Deputy Head of the Flight Test Division Nikolay Martyschenko
– Flight Test Engineer Alexey Kirkin
– Flight Test Engineer Denis Rakhimov
The civil funeral took place at the municipal Palace of Culture. The rites were attended by the representatives of the State Authorities, the senior officials of UAC and SCAC, the representatives of the Russian and Western partners of Sukhoi Superjet 100 program, test pilots and airlines’ pilots.
The funeral was held at Bykovo cemetery with military honors.
The farewell ceremonies for two SCAC employees, the contract manager Kristina Kurzhupova and the sales director Evgeny Grebenshchikov took place in Moscow on May 25 and 26, 2012.
We respect, appreciate, love our colleagues and we sincerely grieve for their premature death. They will be present in our mind and heart forever.

The accident in which our SSJ100 95004 aircraft was involved is a tragedy for all concerned, and while it is still far too early to determine the cause of the crash, we are fully engaged with our partner Sukhoi Civil Aircraft and the appropriate authorities and giving them every assistance we can.
During this difficult time we would wish to extend our deepest condolences to the families of the 45 passengers and crew who are believed to have been killed in this tragic accident, and would like to assure them that every effort is being made to determine what went wrong and why.
